After and incredibly productive morning of Henry at co-op, I have plopped him, tired and zoning out, in front of Dora as a reward for my good deeds. He was promised ONE Dora and agreed that after it is over, he will go quietly and without a fuss to his bed for a nap. What are the chances that will actually happen? Let's say that "slim to none" would be an optimistic view. Anyway...

I dropped Kyle and Fletcher off at work this morning and raced home to get some things packaged up for the post office and to get everything ready to go to drop Henry off at co-op. I dropped him off at 9 and it was on. Amy vs. the clock, and the 3 hours started ticking down. Of course, my first stop was the ever faithful West End Bakery for a triple skim mocha and a raspberry almond muffin. Then back home. The coffee was so hot that I left it on the counter to cool, forgetting about it until about 10 minutes ago when I zapped it in the nuker and drank it all down lickity split. Yum. I went into Photoshop and created a new care instructions sheet for my pants to put in customer packages, since I was down to my last 10 or so. I then got all the paperwork together that I could think of that the IRS might possibly want to see to give me a copy of my '03 tax return and headed off to the Federal Building downtown. Parked in the lot. Went to the wrong building and encountered several important looking and intimidating men wanting to know what the hell I was doing. Got directions. Went to the right building. Found the IRS office. The woman behind the counter said they no longer printed out copies of retunrs at the office and gave me a number to call to order a copy in 2-6 weeks. At the last minute, she asked me what I needed them for, and when she heard I was applying for my very first home loan, took pity on my soul and printed me out a copy of the return on the sly. I pledged to be super nice to strangers for the rest of the week. And I was off to my next destination-Kinko's. -brief intermission to drive the Bean to sleep after he totally renigged on his end of the above mentioned deal- At Kinko's I made and cut a bunch of copies of my new care instruction sheet. I accidentally left my card in the machine and someone made some copies on it before I remembered and took it out. Remembering the nice IRS lady, I told them not to worry about it. Back into the car and on to the bank. Then the grocery store. Then the Post Office. And back to pick Henry up 3 whole minutes early. Do I rock or do I rock? Um...I rock. Now I have to start the list of "things to do during Henry's nap", the most important being a long neglected list of changes the website needs. Egads.

Last night Kate came over to work on the garden a bit with the tiller. Henry, Kyle and I went out and helped, I even tilled a few rows. I guess this weekend is the last frost, so planting should start soon. We got some seeds at the Montford Free Festival this weekend, so I think we are going to plant them tonight. The Montford Free festival was just a gathering in Montford (a borrough of Asheville) where people got to hang out and they had little activities and a money free yard sale and stuff. Henry did the kids' yoga which was pretty awesome. I wish that I brought my camera. I need to get that kid a yoga video to do at home. Anyway, we got some radish seeds, peppers, balloon flowers and squash. The radish can be put in the ground any time now. Kyle has his first homebuyers class tonight, so I think Henry and I are going to take the time to get some gardening supplies and plant some of that stuff, or at least get some seeds going indoors. He loves to garden. He calls it "Henry's Garden". I can't wait to put up little popsicle stick signs with pictures of the veggies and things and watch him watch things grow that he can actually eat. How exciting! There are lots of pictures below of Henry in the garden (and some other random things). Scroll all the way to the bottom and work your way up.
