Henry and I woke up this morning ready to get to work on our garden. Since Adrienne hasn't decided what is going where in the big garde, we decided to start some little seedlings and potted veggies ourselves. We'll replant when the big garden is all mapped out. Henry did an awesome job at Lowe's and we picked out some seedlings: basil, grape tomato, big boy tomato and yellow pepper. We also got a ton of peat pellets and a tray to plant some seedlings. Henry picked out some Chinese Lantern flowers and I got some cilantro, squash and bean seeds. It was more difficult than I thought getting a 2 year old interested in planting seeds. He wasn't interested at ALL in my "how a seed becomes a plant" lecture, even with interpretive dancing. Really, I think watering is his strong suit. Henry is hereby designated the official waterer of the Kett garden. Also, I must say that I felt a tad bit liek a sucker when I opened my little pouch of bean seeds to find a handful of dried beans. Duh. I could have bought a 3 pound bag of "bean seeds" for $.99 at the grocery store. But we had fun running around outside and getting our hands dirty.
